Volunteers from Home Depot with Memorial Boards

On Sunday, May 25, 2014, recently sworn-in Associated Students Executive Officers envisioned a Wall of Remembrance for the community of Isla Vista; a space for public expression and private reflection. Home Depot Manager George Pingree and associates (as pictured above) generously constructed and donated these eight boards: one side with a chalkboard-like surface and the other side a surface upon which messages could be pinned. The boards, along with chalk and floral arrangements, were placed in front of the Associated Students Pardall Center, opposite from IV Deli. This location, central to Isla Vista, helped the community find a place of solace and healing.
